Rampurhat

Tehsil Rampurhat, District Birbhum (Siuri), Bengal, Bharat.

Rampurhat (alternatively Rampur Hat; in Bengali রামপুরহাট) is a city and a municipality in Birbhum District in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is a small and peaceful town near the West Bengal / Jharkhand border. Distance from Kolkata is approximately 219 KM (railway distance).

A very famous Hindu religious place TARAPITH is very near to Rampurhat. People desirous to visit Tarapith have to come to this station. Rampurhat is one of the sub-divisions of Birbhum district. The other two sub-divisions are Siuri(The district Head Qarter) and Bolpur.
